A Derbyshire police officer has been charged with misconduct in a public office.
Pc Jasbir Dhanda faces 11 charges which are understood to relate to him allegedly pursuing inappropriate relationships while on duty.
Mr Dhanda, 52, of Littleover, Derby, was suspended following a complaint from a member of the public.
He has appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court and is currently on bail.
A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: "Derbyshire Constabulary can confirm a 52-year-old officer has been charged with a number of criminal offences.
"An investigation was conducted by the force following a complaint from a member of the public, as a result of which a file was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
"The CPS decided that the officer should be charged with six counts of misconduct in a public office and five Data Protection Act offences.
"The officer remains suspended from duty pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings and any subsequent force misconduct hearing."
The spokesman added that, for legal reasons, he was not able to go into any detail as to the nature of the relationships.
Mr Dhanda is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 18 April.
